An Extended Look premieres on Netflix August 27

Rockstar announced on August 6 that the first real gameplay footage from Grand Theft Auto VI will premiere on Netflix, six hours before it goes anywhere else.

Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premieres on Netflix on Thursday, August 27 at 3 PM ET. It arrives on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and on rockstargames.com/VI at 9 PM ET the same day.

Rockstar called it a first-of-its-kind partnership, and it is: nothing from this series has ever debuted behind a subscription before. The title is doing some work too. Rockstar has not said how long the presentation runs, but "extended look" is not the language you use for a two-minute trailer, and reporting has put it closer to half an hour.

The first hands-on previews from press are expected to land the same day.

This is the third video Rockstar has released for the game, after the December 2023 and May 2025 trailers, and the first to show the game actually being played. Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S on November 19.
